Forest General Manager Karacabey visited the Dean of our Faculty

Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Manager of Forestry (OGM) Bekir Karacabey, together with The Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, Prof. Dr. Birsen DURKAYA, who was appointed dean of the Faculty of Forestry, visited in her office, celebrated her new role and wished her success.

OGM Business and Marketing Department Head Ahmet Aydin, Zonguldak Forest Regional Manager Faruk Bayraktaroglu, Bartin Faculty of Forestry Assistant Dean Associate Professor Dr. Şahin PALTA and Bartin Forestry Faculty Forest Engineering Department Professor Prof. Dr. Ali Durkaya were also present during the visit held at the dean's office.

Forest General Manager Bekir Karacabey, OGM Business and Marketing Department Head Ahmet Aydin and Zonguldak Forest Regional Manager Faruk Bayraktaroglu met at the Dean's office and exchanged ideas about the projects that can be done between the Forestry Faculty and the General Directorate of Forestry and the Zonguldak Forest Regional Directorate.

Rector Uzun underlined that Bartin Forestry Faculty supports the production of effective and decisive policies in the field of forestry with its scientific studies and "One of the most important sectors in the Turkish economy and social structure has been forestry. This sector, which makes important contributions to our economy, is also of strategic importance. In this direction, Bartin Forest Faculty carries out important scientific studies with the support of its internal and external stakeholders and contributes to our 'Producing University' mission with its momentum." Thanking Forest General Manager Bekir Karacabey for his visits, Dean Prof. Dr. Birsen DURKAYA stressed that the new cooperation between OGM and the Faculty of Forestry is very important.

Forest General Manager Karacabey thanked Dean Durkaya for her close attention and stated that "We are ready to give all kinds of support in the projects to be carried out jointly with the Faculty of Forestry".

With the project of Bartın Forestry Faculty supported by TÜBİTAK, innovative solutions will be presented to produce sustainable and ecologically balanced boards.

With the project of Bartın University (BARU) supported by TÜBİTAK, the husk material that emerges after the harvest of hazelnuts will be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.
A training was organized in our faculty within the scope of “TÜBİTAK 2209-A–B- University Students Research Projects Support Program”.
